Just would like to share how Aga Muhlach perfectly describes the Political situation of the Philippines. Something worth pondering on..

UPDATES:

I dont want to be racist or anything but yesterday, we had visitors from Afghanistan in our university.. And I was tasked to be one of the tour guides for them.. Among 30 of them, I think only 4 knows how to speak english.. But thats not the main problem.. they have interpreters anyway..

I would just like you to imagine how it would be like to be trapped with them in an airconditioned room after whole day of touring the city and the university.. Im sorry.. but they really smell differently.

But despite all of those breathing repressions, I enjoyed that experience with the Afghan people because now all the pre-formulated notions about them were replaced with good impressions and I was able to understand their culture a bit more..

yayks speaking of scent, i just broke my perfume bottle awhile ago it was from my mom! Its still half full (or half empty).. goodbye.. on the brighter side, my room smells good!

[UPDATED] A series of fortunate-unfortunate events + the Jacque Bermejo case

Aryt. I woke up this morning afternoon “with a big smile on my  face, and it never seemed out of place” (quoted from a song) coz today was supposed to be the day that I will finally meet Noynoy Aquino in person! I was part of the organizing committee for the preparations for Noynoy and Mar’s political forum in Cagayan de Oro.. I was already prepared with my speech as I was tasked to introduce Mar Roxas. Then I received the very bad news. The event was cancelled! or should I say postponed.

Unprofessionalism? (if there is such a word) Perhaps not. The tandem went home because they prioritized those people that needed their help. They went home to help out the victims of Ondoy. Okay. Reasonable enough. Good thing was that we were assured that the forum will still push through and a new schedule will be set..

Anyways, last night was a very memorable night for me. My hosting frustration was finally fulfilled. It may sound absurd or funny for some but talking in front of a crowd has always been an ecstacy for me. And last night the euphoria was already at its peak. Imagine hosting an event in front of almost (an estimate) 4000 people. BTW, last night was our Intramurals Opening and Cheerdance Competition.I never thought I’d be given the chance to host such a big event. Well, Ive hosted debuts, forums, but this one is different. HAHA. enough! I was too overwhelmed.

Update on the cheerdance competition, our college didnt win but it was already an achievement to execute a very smooth and flawless routine. Considering the fact that our course (nursing) is not an easy course. and for you to balance both academics and cheerdancing, that is definitely an achievement.

As the president of our council, from my view, I wasnt disappointed with their performance.  I was actually jumping when they finished their dance. I was too proud!

Oh well, so much for that. It has been a very busy week for me. Im already dressed up for the Noymar event (im wearing yellow with the Philippine map on it) so I think Ill just scoot and find a better thing to do than watch TV and facebook all day. Well someone invited me over for lunch.. gotta go!

I wouldnt let this issue pass! a bitch in the person of Jacque Bermejo gave out unnecessary and inappropriate comments regarding the calamity that struck the Philippines.. heres her comment and I quote “buti n lng am hir in dubai! Maybe so many sinners bak der!so yeah deserving wat hapend”.. Fuck her! (excuse me for the vulgar words) It’s sad to note that some people can become so insensitive that they end up being hated by the world. Well anyways she deserve it.. Doesnt she know that thousands are already affected by the flood? Millions of properties were already swiped out? Hundreds of lives are in jeopardy? God bless her soul..

These teaches us one thing.. We should be careful on what we say (or write).

Noynoy for 2010

It may sound ridiculous or it may sound absurd for some,

but YES. I am proud to be a Noynoy Volunteer.

My last post could have made the impression that I dislike Noynoy. No. Its just that I would have wanted another man for the job.

But at this point, the image for the 2010 elections becomes more vivid. We need an alternative for this sh*tty political situation we are in. And among the aspirants, Noynoy offers the best option.

Oh well. Yesterday, someone contacted us, the student leaders, if we were interested to start up a piNOY power chapter in our university. It may be chauvinism on our part since Noynoy is a fellow Atenean but like most Filipinos, we feel the need to do something. That after several years, we will have the contention to say that we actually did something by  not letting THEM destroy the future of this country.

I am not forcing you to vote for Noynoy. I wouldnt argue if youre not vying for him. Everyone is entitled to their right, to vote for the person that they think will be capable of doing the job.

2010 will be a very crucial moment for everybody. Not only will it change the leaders of the country but it will bring a new breed of hope for the Filipino people.

So, VOTE WISELY.

a cowardly or heroic act?

Mar Roxas’ sudden withdraw of his presidential aspirations shocked me. I was vying for him for the presidency.. not because of his padyak moments in his sobrang cheesy political ad but because it was a matter of choosing the “lesser evil”.. and in terms of political track record, Mar Roxas has already proven himself.  from the spurring of call centers when he was a DTI secretary to his legislative milestones on his term as a senator, very few anomalies were attached to him..

Now, was his withdrawal an act of a hero or a coward?

According to Roxas, his primary reason for backing out was to make way for Noynoy’s presidency. that would make him a hero. a true leader per se. why? because a true leader knows how to sacrifice for the greater good.. well im not saying that Noynoy is the bearer of the greater good but in Roxas’ perception, he is.. thats why he sacrificed..

On the other hand, if my pessimistic alter ego wont deceive me, Roxas’ action could have been the result of his forecast of a probable defeat.. considering the fact that he is not doing well in the polls. which makes him a complete coward..

whatever his reason is, one thing is for sure.. now the options for the presidency has been narrowed down to a very few list of capable leaders.. Noynoy perhaps?

Maybe not.. Noynoy, in my opinion, is way too young (in terms of politics) to become the next president.. i know his intentions are clear but i think that is not sufficient.. let us not let our emotions overwhelm us.. the masses’ sudden push for noynoy’s presidency could have been the result of his mother’s death.. he has not proven anything yet..

Definitely not the best move for Mar.. but who knows? no one can really tell where this crucial event will lead us..

YES! I could have written my article about Ex. Pres. Aquino earlier.. immediately after she died but I didnt have the energy and literally, the strength to do it. I was bedridden and hospitalized at home. I was on IV therapy (dextrose) for days. I tried to start a post but nothing came out.. the spontaneity of thoughts was suddenly stricken by 40 degrees of body temp, coughs and colds and other ahini H1N1 symptoms. (nothing serious, though. im fine. thank you)

Anyways, im starting to fear the idea of “sleeping” (for the information of insomniacs and nocturnals, sleeping is when you try to close your eyes and go to a place where you can be yourself or meet your soulmate). No, seriously.. I found out my dad died (some 6 years ago) and a very close friend committed suicide (few months ago) the moment I woke up.. and now this, we may not have any personal encounter, but as a student leader and as a Filipino, I realized that I could not have enjoyed this kind of freedom if it wasnt for her.

She may not be the best president but she actually made a difference not only in the History of the Philippines, Asia but the whole world. She wasnt best known as the 1st woman president in Asia but she was more known for “the most peaceful revolt ever.”

Hillary Clinton gave Mrs. Aquino her personal message.. Barrack Obama gave his personal message.. Imelda Marcos gave hers.. and ERAP gave his.. PGMA gave her scripted and unsincere message and now im giving mine..

“Maam Cory, It would have been a pleasure to meet you in person but at this point it would be impossible.. You left millions of Filipinos crying but you paved way in reliving the democracy, that you started. It may be the worst way to rekindle the passion to fight for the truth but it reminded everybody how important it is to fight for it. Thank you for the gift of trust in these times of uncertainty. Thank you for the gift of hope in these times of despair. Thank you for the gift of faith in these times of doubt.”

Hopelessness

Some of you might have noticed that I have been inactive in the blogosphere over the past few days despite the fact that we have a 10 day hiatus in school coz of the H1N1 scare. here’s why..

The day after the announcement of the 10 day hiatus, while I was watching and LMFAOing over Ice Age 3, I received an unexpected call.. It was my high school friend. She gave me a very very good news.

I was accepted in a conference. Not just any conference.. a Harvard Conference.. and to top it all off, it will be held in Seoul. I applied for the said conference 3 months ago. And because the conference was about to take place and I havent received any confirmation yet from Harvard University, I lost hope and I didnt expect that I will actually be accepted. Nevertheless, i got in.

The emotions surged in. It was mostly happiness and excitement but as the euphoric mood began to decelerate, nervousness and anxiousness overpowered me. why? because I still dont have any requirements. Passport, Visa or even my birth certificate (missing). So I really had to start from scratch.

The following day, I went to NSO in the morning and got my bcert at about 3pm. I went immediately to DFA and asked for the requirements. The day after that, I went to the City Hall to get a Police Clearance but they said I would still need my Barangay Clearance. I went to the brgy hall and they said I still need a Zone Clearance. I went to the Zone Leader and he wasnt at home. I then went to the Postal office to get a Postal ID but I still need a signature from the Brgy Capt. I came back to the brgy hall and eventually they ALSO gave me a Brgy Clearance without the Zone Clearance (money talks). I got my postal ID and the Police Clearance in the afternoon. The lines were very long and you need to pay for every move you make (thats how corrupt our Govt is).

At about 4 pm when the DFA is about to close, I was able to pass my application for the Passport. What they got was ONLY my Bcert, School ID and my Transcript of Records. Everything I went through was all useless. Anyways, the guy from the DFA even said that my passport application was still subject for a review coz some parts of my Bcert was a bit blurry and that they would just txt me the day after.

THE DAY AFTER. I was happy that the day was about to end and I didnt receive any text message from the DFA but at about 5pm, a txt msg was sent to me stating that my passport application was pending. And I need to come by the office immediately. I went to the office and it was already closed.

the following morning, I went to the DFA and they said that I will be needing my Form A1 or the Local Civil Registry Birth Certificate from where I was born. Im currently in Cagayan De Oro and I was born in Muntinlupa City.

Good thing my sister is in Manila right now to take the IELTS examination. She was able to get  the Form A1 and sent it through LBC. Now Im still waiting for the said document and my application is still pending.

Oh.. did I mention that I will get my passport on August 10? and did I mention that I need to leave on August 12? I still dont have any VISA and Im losing hope. tsk3. pray for me guys. I really want to join the conference.

Marriage of true minds

Ive been blogging for a month now.

It may seem like a very short time but it has already caused me so much joy, excitement, horniness and unexpectedly, PAIN.

Ive never believed in online dating or long distance relationships or cam2cam sex an against-all-odds kind of love. In fact, I despise it. Coz ive always believed that physicality is an essential part of love. Its definitely hard to love someone that you cant see in person. Its hard to trust someone you cant monitor. and Its hard to be intimate with someone you cant even touch. This has been my mindset. Until I met her.

It all started with this BLOGSITE. I never thought that a single comment will lead to a love like no other.

The passion for chocolates. this is(was) something that we share(d). something that reminded me how inlove I was. something that refreshes my memory of how crazy I was about her. Everytime I bite one, all I see is her face. and all I can think about is her. It has become “my own brand of heroin”. I was addicted to it. to her. to us.

We were so inlove. Ive never felt so inlove. Maybe because the anticipation to see her and the excitement to feel her body rubbing against mine longingness I felt heightened that love. I thought it was eternal. I thought it was forever. We even made a promise to wait no matter how long it takes. I think that was the part that ended it. Promises were made to be broken.

Alas, the great love turned into a bucket of tears. No more happy endings. No more happily ever after. Yet, No regrets. Coz if sacrificing will mean a better love for her, then it will be all worth it. She knows I love her but I just had to let her go. She will be happier with him.

To you, you know who you are. hope you are happier now. I will always be here for you. Nothing has changed.

Its an irony how I derived my webname from the synonyms of Heart Breaker (Crux Rifter). and now my heart is broken.
